emacs -q
Put some file names in a buffer - e.g. c:/path/to/my-file.el etc.
M-x load-library ffap
M-x ffap-bindings
C-S mouse-3 brings up menu with the file names - pick one. The file's
buffer is displayed.
C-x b RET to return to the original buffer. The ffap highlighting of
the selected file remains.
In GNU Emacs 22.0.50.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)

This is a feature, not a bug.
Highlighting can be turned off by setting the variable `ffap-menu-text-plist'
to nil.
