I've decided to downgrade the feature of user options that are not
customizable, and use the term "settings" for variables and faces
that work with Custom.
OK.
Could you elaborate on what you mean by "downgrade"? Just what will be done
(changed)? Is this decision for the current release only, or does it affect
policy going forward?
In the long run we might get rid of that option, but I have not decided.
For now, it is just that I don't think it is an important concern
for the manual.
