It used to be possible to run Emacs with `temacs -l loadup'
and get a real session.
I tried this just now on a tty and it more or less worked, but there
were glaring problems in redisplay. I would guess that a little
debugging would suffice to fix those problems. Then maybe Emacs could
run under valgrind in this mode.
