Trying things on a branch pose a difficulty for me, since I have only
a few hours per week to work on Emacs, and checking out and
bootstrapping a tree takes a large portion of that time. That is why
I asked to merge that branch with the trunk.
That would be useful, but we need it to be tried by a few people
first.
