    It can contain (physically on the screen, not as part of the Lisp
    package) speedbar, but that is an option. It also uses speedbar
    functionality to support modes that are not supported by semantic.

So, does this mean that ECB makes the existing Speebar package
obsolete?

If not, then why not?
