As it is now, the only way to open it is by using the File menu. I am currently running on GNU/Linux so I cannot check what the function name called is. One way is to use tmm (or icicle-menu) to access the File menu item from the keyboard. It takes only a few keystrokes to access the "File > Open File..." item.
