    Perhaps you could simply adapt the four color selectors available in
    the GIMP; the first is what you describe.  The other three do the same
    thing, but with different interfaces.

Where can they be found?

    Obviously, one wants to change
    more than one color component at the same time...

Not so obvious to me. Changing more than one at a time can be useful, but I
think changing one at a time is also useful, especially if you can move from
one to the next easily.
