emacs -Q
M-x rename-buffer RET M-n - there is no default value.

The current buffer name should be the default value, available for
editing.


In GNU Emacs 22.1.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)
 of 2007-06-02 on RELEASE
Windowing system distributor `Microsoft Corp.', version 5.1.2600
configured using `configure --with-gcc (3.4) --cflags -Ic:/gnuwin32/include'

It's a pity that neither `B' nor `b' interactive code letter can be
used becase `b' requires an existing buffer, and `B' provides the
other buffer's name as default.  But fortunately now Lisp code is
allowed in the interactive specification of a C function:
