It's not part of a =20 path specification. GNU Emacs seems to do the right thing in some =20 instances. Using the expand-file-name function, let's say ten times =20 in ~/.emacs, wastes after a few thousand launches a measurable amount =20= of time and energy =96 and conserves far more when you don't protect/=20 expand ~. What is ~ meaning in Losedos?
