Thanks.=C2=A0 We have a TODO item for that, please see it.

Yes I had read it and a= lso the mailing list discussion linked there.=C2=A0

How did you envision th= is font property to be used in Emacs?

The etc/TODO item for that suggests to implement this as a text
property instead.=C2=A0 That is, of course, not carved in stone, but I
think we should in any case decide on how this will be used from Lisp
before we talk about how to expose it to Lisp.

<= /div>
I imagined that it would be something like this:

=C2=A0 (set-fontset-font t 'bengali
=C2=A0 =C2=A0(fo= nt-spec :family "Tiro Bangla"
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 :stylis= tic-set '("ss03")))

=C2=A0 (set-= face-attribute 'default nil
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0:font "Fira = Code"
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0:weight 'regular
=C2=A0 =C2= =A0 =C2=A0:height 170
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0:stylistic-set '("= cv01" "ss05" "ss03"))

Jus= t like how weight, foundry, size etc are set and they seem to be font prope= rties.

Thanks.=C2=A0 We have a TODO item for that, please see it.

How did you envision this font property to be used in Emacs?

The etc/TODO item for that suggests to implement this as a text
property instead.=C2=A0 That is, of course, not carved in stone, but I
think we should in any case decide on how this will be used from Lisp
before we talk about how to expose it to Lisp.
