When did you last read the tutorial?  I posted a few excerpts from it
just now, which show that the tutorial does the exact opposite of what
you say.

It was some time ago ;-) - When I tried to enhance how the tutorial handles different choices like cua-mode, viper etc... ;-)

So that part is better now. Good.

But you still can't use arrow keys etc for selecting text from default Emacs, or? That is a very important use of the arrow keys.
