It takes a small amount of time to learn a small amount of features,
and a lot of time to learn a lot of features, like any other software.

But IMHO the payoff of learning even a small amount of Org's features
is immediately big, which makes a difference.

I would say that org-mode is very easy to get started with. For writing I think the folding in org-mode is superb. And then you can export to LibreOffice and finish the writing.
