Yeah, I ran with `-q` and the same thing is happening. T= he buffer isn't read-only, though. Deleting without the region active w= orks. Killing the region with C-w works. It's only deleting that doesn&= #39;t work.

I'm unable to reproduce this bug.=C2=A0 Do you get this when starting E= macs
with -Q?

It sounds like you have some sort of extension that makes buffers
read-only installed.
