Yes, shorthands make life a bit more complex.
I don't think there's much we can do about that.

We can _not_ list shorthands in lists of symbols ;-)

To be clear, I mean _global_ lists. It's ok to list them in l= ocal ones, such as C-M-i.

In fact, someday more local things such as lexically available variables = and functions can be listed there, maybe.
