The opening > Typing =E2=80=98C-x C-j=E2=80=99 (=E2=80=98dired-jump=E2=80=99) in any bu= ffer will open a Dired buffer... is imprecise (to wit the next sentence). Perhaps better might be: Typing =E2=80=98C-x C-j=E2=80=99 (=E2=80=98dired-jump=E2=80=99) in a Dired = buffer will move up a level and move point to the previous directory=E2=80=99s line. Typing =E2=80=98C= -x C-j=E2=80=99 (=E2=80=98dired-jump=E2=80=99) in any other kind of buffer will open a Dire= d buffer in that same window and move point to the line corresponding to the current file. Typing =E2=80=98C-x 4 C-j=E2=80=99 (=E2=80=98dired-jump-othe= r-window=E2=80=99 has the same effect but opens a new window for the Dired buffer. Question: what if the original buffer is neither a Dired buffer nor a buffer visiting a file?
