I have a long personal word list for ispell named ".ispell_american" that I've built up over the years with uncommon words I commonly use. I sync this personal dictionary across a few computers. But lately my emacs at work (GNU Emacs 23.2.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.24.4) of 2011-04-04 on rothera, modified by Debian) won't recognize common words of mine. I traced this to its using aspell instead of ispell when I invoke "ispell-buffer", and referring to ".aspell.en.pws" instead of my ispell personal dictionary. Is there a good way to tell it to use my ispell list instead? (I tried a symbolic link but it's not in the right format to make aspell happy.) Or is there a good way to convert all my emacsen to aspell and convert the personal dictionary? Thanks, spetey --f46d04016ab93563e204bf1408b7 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
Hi Emacs folks,

I've dug around but can&#= 39;t find help on this. I have a long personal word list for ispell named &= quot;.ispell_american" that I've built up over the years with unco= mmon words I commonly use. I sync this personal dictionary across a few com= puters.

But lately my emacs at work (GNU Emacs 23.2.1 (i686-pc-= linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.24.4)=A0of 2011-04-04 on rothera, modified by Deb= ian) won't recognize common words of mine.

I traced this to its using aspell instead of ispell when I invoke "isp= ell-buffer", and referring to ".aspell.en.pws" instead of my= ispell personal dictionary. Is there a good way to tell it to use my ispel= l list instead? (I tried a symbolic link but it's not in the right form= at to make aspell happy.) Or is there a good way to convert all my emacsen = to aspell and convert the personal dictionary?

Thanks,
spetey
