It was a mess, but I hope I fixed these warnings now.  Please try the
latest master and see if any fallout remains.

Thanks for your efforts. (I wouldn't sort that out myself)
However, there are yet problems.

The ones related to pI are removed if 

#define pI "ll"

which somehow fails to happen here.
