[-- Attachment #1.1: Type: text/plain, Size: 3352 bytes --]

I'm running emacs over ssh on a computing cluster, using an interactive job
from the SLURM scheduler. When editing files outside of this interactive
compute session, there is no problem.

Simply doing the following causes some graphical glitches, e.g., gaps in
the pane border and missing lines in the buffer (see attached):

emacs
C-x 3

Thanks,
Joey Arthur

Is that a text-mode session? Looks like bug#17497, or something
similar.

I don't believe so -- this happens when splitting the window from the
initial *GNU Emacs* buffer, which looks to be in fundamental-mode.

Sorry for being unclear: I meant text-mode session, as in
"emacs -nw", s opposed to a GUI session. That is, the display
is on a text terminal, right?

Thanks for the clarification.

Yes, this problem only happens in a text mode-session -- the GUI
session is fine.

I've checked the report-emacs-bug template while running on our login
node (which works fine) and the computation node (which gives the
graphical glitches). The only difference outside of memory usage is
this line under "Recent messages" which only appears in the fully
functioning session:

Loading /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/site-start.d/rpmdev-init.el (source)...done

Seems pretty innocuous though

(I'm going through old bug reports that unfortunately weren't resolved
at the time.)

Are you still seeing this issue in more recent Emacs versions?

More information was requested, but none was given within 4 weeks, so
I'm closing this bug. If this is still an issue, please reply to this
email (use "Reply to all" in your email client) and we can reopen the
bug report.

(For posterity, that email bounced.)
