Setup:
1. windows 7 with putty 0.66 ssh to ubuntu 14.04
by following steps:
1. download 25.1 source code from gnu official site.
2. configure with --without-x
3. make; make install
4. start with emacs -Q
5. start ansi-term with /bin/bash
6. use mouse to select some text.
7. use Shift-insert to paste after bash shell prompt.
8. the text is echoed on the screen, but it has no effect. for example if the text 'ccc' is pasted after 'cd' and press enter, it will not enter ccc directory, but keep in the same location, just like 'cd' is executed. but if use 'C-c M-x term-paste', it will work.
Any idea?
Regards,

(This was reported 4 years ago but unfortunately never got a reply at
the time.)
Are you still seeing this on a recent version of Emacs, such as the
recently released version 27.1?

More information was requested, but no response was given within a few
months, so I'm closing this bug report. If the problem still exists,
please respond to this email and we'll reopen the bug report.
