I can confirm this behaviour.=C2=A0 I do not know if this is a regression,<= br> but it is inconsistent for sure.=C2=A0 That said, you can hack around this = by
using \phantom{dummy}.

For now I'm simply getting rid of the tags after = specifying the environments I want to work around the issue. But I do belie= ve that this is inconsistent behavior.
