* emacs -- daemon and desktop lock file

If you ever happen to nuke your emacs --- or something bad
happens to it, i.e. your emacs died rather than you having shut
it down cleanly; then restarting emacs as emacs --daemon appears
to have become impossible.

You get the prompt "desktop file appears to be in use ..."  but
answering "y" to reuse it anyway doesn't work; you have to blow
the lock away.

Starting emacs without the --daemon flag lets you clean thhings
up; would be nice if emacs --daemon could do the cleanup too.
