Dear Emacs help,
I have 23.1.1 installed on my system. This doesn't support Fortran 2008 submodules. Do more recent versions of emacs support this? Is there a "work-around" I could use for this version of emacs instead?
Thanks,
Regards, Chris Maynard.

Support was added in Emacs 24.1:
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/emacs.git/tree/etc/NEWS?id=emacs-24.1#n857:
*** f90.el has some support for Fortran 2008 syntax.
The comments in f90.el suggest that submodule support works. You can
view the file here:
