I¹m running Mac OSX 10.4.11 on a PowerBook G4 1.33 GHz.

In Terminal, I¹ve entered the command
Vessel-2:/applications/emacs-22.2 wick$ ./configure --enable-carbon-app

And received the response

Any suggestions of what I can do to fix this?

These lines ask you to install the Developer meta-package. It comes  
with a C compiler.

install apple developer tools either from the install cd of from the
www then try compiling. but i had trouble compiling it a week ago on os
x. if that happens try 22.2 it compiles fine.
