Is this the correct place to report problems with the emacs website (https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/)? Just wanted to suggest that the Mac command to download should be changed to "brew cask install emacs" because the current command does not work anymore.

Best,
Jesse Olsson

Just letting you know you might want to update the Homebrew install
instructions. Homebrew no longer supports command line options,
specifically ‘—with-cocoa’ in this case.

$ brew install emacs
That will still install emacs but without a GUI.

$ brew cask install emacs
That will install emacs with cocoa.

Keep up the great work!
Michael.

Hi, thanks for the report. I take it you’re referring to the
instructions on the website?

Nicolas, are you able to update the website?

Yes, just the website. That is all that I came across.

Thanks!
Michael.

It never occurred to me to look at that page (because why would I want
to look at Emacs' no-longer-updated CVS repository?). Maybe it should
be mentioned elsewhere, admin/notes/www seems like a good candidate.

I actually thought there was such a mention, but maybe I was thinking of
the notes at the end of admin/make-tarball.txt.

BTW, some people are unhappy with having to use CVS.
Here's a tool that claims to do a two-way sync between git and CVS:

https://github.com/mikjo/bigitr

(It needs to be a two-way sync because eg sometimes the GNU webmasters
make changes, and I don't think it's reasonable to expect them to learn
a different procedure specially for Emacs.)

Hi Michael,

I'm been behind with some emails, and looking at this now, the website
has already been updated.

Cheers,
Nico
