Anyone?
I've narrowed it down to happening only in 'Term mode' and only when I've
turned off fringe.

Here is my emacs version information:

GNU Emacs 23.2.1 (x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.24.4)
 of 2011-04-04 on crested, modified by Debian
