error when starting emacs

Hello,

I have a Dell Latitutet D600 on which I am running Ubuntu 10.04. I installed
Emacs23 a few minutes ago using the command: "sudo apt-get emacs." Now,
whenever I start emacs, these messages appear:

** (emacs:2295): CRITICAL **: murrine_style_draw_box: assertion `height >=
-1' failed

** (emacs:2295): CRITICAL **: murrine_style_draw_box: assertion `height >=
-1' failed

** (emacs:2295): CRITICAL **: murrine_style_draw_box: assertion `height >=
-1' failed

** (emacs:2295): CRITICAL **: murrine_style_draw_box: assertion `height >=
-1' failed

** (emacs:2295): CRITICAL **: murrine_style_draw_box: assertion `height >=
-1' failed

** (emacs:2295): CRITICAL **: murrine_style_draw_box: assertion `height >=
-1' failed

Sometimes the numbers following "emacs" in the parenthesis are different.
This doesn't seem to impact the functionality of emacs. Does anybody know
what is going on here, and how I can prevent these errors, or if I should
just ignore them?

I believe these are errors relating to the GTK theme you are using and
are not emacs specific. They are also largely harless. 

To fix them,l you would need to fix the cause in the style definitions
for mairine_style. There is nothing that can be done via emacs.
