hello,
I noticed that in octave-mode of emacs, figure window generated by
fltk-backended octave does not close. Nothing happens, while I click [X] button
on the figure window. When I use octave on a normal terminal(rxvt, for
example), it works well(I can close the windows correctly).

The gnuplot-backended octave works well on octave-mode of emacs and on
normal termninal. GNU Octave version is 3.3.52.

Hopefully someone who actually uses Octave can understand what you say,
but for those of us mere mortals, could you describe what you're doing
in terms of basic steps like "emacs -Q; hit these and those keys; ..."?

        Stefan

Note that you are not using the Octave mode that comes with Emacs, but
some other version. This may or may not be related to your problem.

Thanks, Stefan and Glenn.

I was looking through the octave-inf.el, and I noticed the
"--no-line-editing" option is used as a launch option of octave. So,
I tried to run the fltk backended octave with the option on my rxvt
terminal, it did not work well in respect to handling figure windows.

I think the cause is not octave-inf.el of emacs but the fltk backend
of octave. So, I sent a bug report to the octave maintainers.

I'm closing this bug. Please reopen it if it turns to be a problem in Emacs.
