You can look at EmacsWiki:

http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/emacs-en
http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/wiki/CategoryWindows with nodes
	http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/wiki/WindowsAndRegisters
	http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/wiki/LayoutRestore
	http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/wiki/WindowsMode
	http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/wiki/SessionManagement
	http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/wiki/FramesAndRegisters

I am using session.el and desktop.el – and windows and frames and
positions on screen are not completely restored.

If my theory of relativity is proven successful, Germany will claim
me as a German, and France will declare that I am a citizen of the
world. Should my theory prove untrue, France will say that I am a
German, and Germany will declare that I am a Jew.
