Xemacs and paren Highlighting

Xemacs and paren Highlighting

Im using XEmacs version 21.1 (patch 12).
In my old version (20.4 "Emerald") I had the option of using paren Highlighting (under the options)
But In the new version for some  this option is not active??
What is the problem?
