What some find old, some > will find modern. What was once modern will become old again, and > what was old again will become modern. The term "modern" should definitely never be used to name something in Emacs. That just invites mocking as anachronism. Everything someone thinks is old-fashioned today could have been, and some things were, labeled "modern" at some point. And in the world of marketing, that has often been done in a way that associates the thing with, well, just phony advertising. "Modern" has a connotation of fad, hot, or fashion. If you really want someone to think your thing is new, hot, or fashionable, don't call it "modern". > A different name would be more appropriate. Yes, and a name that _actually_ describes the thing. If you can't describe it in a way that gets your point across, it might well be that you don't have much of a point to get across. If the most/best you can say about something is that it is blue, then just say that. Don't try to embellish or sell it by calling it "modern". That just invites ridicule, and it doesn't help anyone.
