I have compiled and installed Emacs 24 on an ubuntu system, set
marmalade as an additional package archive, and tried to refresh from
the package buffer. I get an error message,
Failed to download 'marmalade' archive.
I get a similar message from the 'gnus' archive. I have changes the
permissions on the site-wide package directories to add write
permission to the 'staff' group, of which I am a member.
Anybody else have this problem? Any ideas?
