hi,
The "recover file" (from auto-save) message on startup often gets
overwritten in the echo area by later messages, usually those from modes
like LaTeX-mode. Hence, if you're not looking at the echo area all the time
during startup, it's easy to miss that message.

Is there a way to make sure that if there is any auto-save data, the
reminder about it is displayed at the very end? Thanks,

Raj.

Another way than to look at the Messages Buffer (C-x b *Messages*) ?

A good way is to report it as a bug: M-x report-emacs-bug
