iswitch-mode and viper

(setq iswitchb-mode t) seems to be a no-op in viper-mode.  Anybody
have a workaround / bugfix?

Thanks to somebody who replied by email, I now realise I should be
doing (iswitchb-mode 1).  After some fiddling about, I now have:

(iswitchb-mode 1)
(setq viper-mode t)
(require 'viper)

in my .emacs, and recalled that I need to change switch-to-buffer to
iswitchb-buffer in my .viper.  Now working fine!

iswitchb-mode's value is nil

Non-nil if Iswitchb mode is enabled.
See the command `iswitchb-mode' for a description of this minor-mode.
Setting this variable directly does not take effect;
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
use either C-c z z or the function `iswitchb-mode'.
