Subject: bug#15148: 24.3.50; cache-long-scans t breaks dired
Date: Wed, 21 Aug 2013 00:59:21 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <87y57w3r5i.fsf@web.de> (raw)
Hello,
here, cache-long-scans t in dired does speed up moving by lines a lot,
but it also breaks dired. Every time a file's line is updated, stuff
like
//DIRED// 45 51
//DIRED-OPTIONS// --quoting-style=literal
is inserted into the buffer. File operations raise errors.
A minimal example from emacs -Q:
- dired a directory
- there, M-: (setq cache-long-scans t)
- on a file, hit l (maybe twice)
Then I get additional lines like above.
Thanks,
Michael.
