This is not correct. '(something) =E2=89=A1 (quote (something)) which evals to a list of one element, the symbol =E2=80=98something=E2=80= =99 i.e., =3D> (something) but (quote something) =E2=89=A1 'something which evals to the symbol =E2=80=98something=E2=80=99 i.e., =3D> something Also, i think it's better to say "evals to" rather than "returns". The latter strikes me as indicative of a function-call context. OTOH, =E2=80=98eval=E2=80=99 is a function, so i suppose YMMV... :-D =2D-=20 Thien-Thi Nguyen GPG key: 4C807502 (if you're human and you know it) read my lisp: (responsep (questions 'technical) (not (via 'mailing-list))) =3D> nil --=-=-= Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.12 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAlPXAY0ACgkQZwMiJEyAdQJKcQCgg4vaUnHNXdqTSl9qQebwuLg0 x3oAoMpUpgji4H5CqvYIYHzghmj2Zp4P =rrTt -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-=-=--
