Hi,
In my Emacs environment using Tramp to access a file using the
ssh method, I get the following backtrace (see below) with
C-x C-f `(find-file)':
Find file: ~//ssh:localhost:~/xpra.test
`(list-process)' yields:
*tramp/ssh l... run *tramp/ssh l... /dev/pts/14 /bin/sh -i
However, immediately executing the same command `(find-file)' again,
I successfully get new buffer for the file:
.% *Process List* 64 Process Menu
ssh:xpra.test 0 Fundamental /ssh:localhost:/home/liveuser/xpra.test
* l 3676 Fundamental
%* *Backtrace* 3676 Debugger
*scratch* 145 Lisp Interaction
%* *Messages* 2479 Messages
* *tramp/ssh local... 0 Fundamental
Does the *Backtrace* reveal any clues on what went initially wrong?
How do I debug this?
Thanks.

Honestly, I don't see what you have typed. Could you, pls, give a recipe
how to reproduce the problem? Pls start with "emacs -Q".

Best regards, Michael.

I typed:
C-x C-f /ssh:localhost:~/xpra.test RET
which fails rhe first time but succeeds the second,
immediately after.
This works all the time with "emacs -Q" so I know it has
to do with my emacs Tramp setup and its interaction with Tramp.
But this exact same setup worked flawlessly with Emacs 24-3.
I have a tramp-verbose 6 buffer which I can send offlist, if
required.
Thanks.

Pls do. tramp-verbose set to 10 might be better in this case.

Further investigations have shown, that it isn't a Tramp bug. It's
rather an environment problem of the OP. Closing the bug.
