Actually could this stack relate to the fact that I did not recompile
packages left from the previous emacs-28 realm?
There was not something (M-x magit-log specifically errored out) not
properly working in magit (though most of it was fine).
The last one is on 86b03046c00 (HEAD -> emacs-29, origin/emacs-29)
