For example, the following - Description :: Item - Description :: Item gets exported as \begin{description} \item{Description} Item \item{Description} Item \end{description} instead of \begin{description} \item[Description] Item \item[Description] Item \end{description} and thus they are not correctly rendered in the PDF output. I'm currently using Org mode version 9.3.6 (9.3.6-4-gdfa7a3-elpaplus @ c:/U= sers/joon/.emacs.d/elpa/org-plus-contrib-20200217/) --_000_BN8PR15MB2755A4A30894364A48B6B3B3EB110BN8PR15MB2755namp_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
Hi,

I noticed that in LaTeX export, descriptions in description lists are surro= unded by {} instead of [] in LaTeX export, making them not correctly render= ed.
For example, the following

- Descript= ion :: Item
- Des= cription :: Item

gets exported as

\begin{}
\item{Description} Item
\item{Description} Item
\end= description}

instead of

\begin{description}
\item[Descri= ption] Item
\item[Descri= ption] Item
\end{description}

and thus they are not co= rrectly rendered in the PDF output.

I'm currently using Org mode version 9.3.6 (9.3.6-4-gdfa7a3-elpaplus @ c:/Users/joon/.ema= cs.d/elpa/org-plus-contrib-20200217/)

I can confirm this with the latest version of org from git. The outcome is not what is desired nor what was previously the case. --=20 : Eric S Fraga via Emacs 28.0.50, Org release_9.3.6-350-g39f1c1 From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: "Fraga, Eric" Subject: Re: Item descriptions get surrounded by wrong curly braces in LaTeX export Date: Wed, 19 Feb 2020 16:07:28 +0000 Message-ID: <87wo8ipnls.fsf@ucl.ac.uk> References: Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Return-path: Received: from eggs.gnu.org ([2001:470:142:3::10]:36751) by lists.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.90_1) (envelope-from ) id 1j4Rsq-0008HQ-Hy for emacs-orgmode@gnu.org; Wed, 19 Feb 2020 11:07:33 -0500 Received: from Debian-exim by eggs.gnu.org with spam-scanned (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1j4Rsp-0007mp-FA for emacs-orgmode@gnu.org; Wed, 19 Feb 2020 11:07:32 -0500 Received: from mail-eopbgr50125.outbound.protection.outlook.com ([40.107.5.125]:53388 helo=EUR03-VE1-obe.outbound.protection.outlook.com) by eggs.gnu.org with esmtps (TLS1.0:RSA_AES_256_CBC_SHA1:32) (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1j4Rsp-0007lz-5O for emacs-orgmode@gnu.org; Wed, 19 Feb 2020 11:07:31 -0500 In-Reply-To: (Joon Ro's message of "Tue, 18 Feb 2020 00:50:56 +0000") Content-Language: en-US List-Id: "General discussions about Org-mode."
