I solved the org-export to pdf by installing the /full/ texlive2012 in
the metnioned repo - not ideal, as it is huge (installing everything!),
but it works. If there's a better solution, I'd appreciate the info!
(tex-text still doesn't work, but that's not for this mailing list...)
: yum install texlive-scheme-full
