Yes, if it has graphics capabilities and the application knows how to
use them. For a long time that was the only way to get graphics on UNIX
and it only changed when workstations(1) became available. The local
tty available on Linux used to have it, not sure if it is still default.
(1) Workstation: originally defined as a microcomputer with "three M" —
one MFLOP, one Mpixel and one MWord of memory (sometimes MByte).
