Hi
This is an EMACS keyboard macro that I've been using since more than 4-5
years now.
(global-set-key [24 11 48] 'my-insert-timestamp) ;; It translates to
the key sequence: C-x C-k 0
Its definition is:
(fset 'my-insert-timestamp
(kmacro-lambda-form [?* ?\C-u ?\M-! ?p ?r ?i ?n ?t ?f ? ?\" ?% ?\(
?% ?F ? ?% ?T ?\) ?T ?\" ?* ?\C-m ?\C-e ?\C-m ?\C-m] 0 "%d"))
Which basically means to to execute the key sequence: C-u M-! printf
"%(%F %T)". This in turn executes the command to insert the time-stamp
at point's location.
This macro does execute and the time-stamp does get printed, but I also
get a Warning pop-up in the EMACS frame as a window.
Your bug report will be posted to the Org mailing list.

Thanks for reporting!
Unfortunately, I am unable to reproduce this on my side because C-u M-!
printf ... command does not work with my shell:
/bin/bash: line 1: printf: warning: `': invalid time format specification
/bin/bash: line 1: printf: `T': invalid format character
%(0.000000
May you try to use the development version of Org mode and let me know
if you keep seeing the warning?

Sorry, I missed the "T" there in the command. The whole command is:
printf "%(%F %T)T"
I'm working on setting up the Org mode dev environment. Will try to
reproduce in that environment and update.

I tried with this command using the latest Org release.
I am unable to reproduce.

Alright, I'll check it out when I upgrade to the latest version 9.7 from
the ELPA repo.

It has been over a month. Have you had a chance to try the latest Org mode?

Hi Ihor
Yes, I've installed org-9.7.7 from ELPA and the issue persists. I get
this error text now when running the shell command:
---
Warning (org-element): org-element--cache: Org parser error in
_Misc/Scratch.org::13112. Resetting.
The error was: (error "Invalid search bound (wrong side of point)")
Backtrace:
nil
Please report this to Org mode mailing list (M-x org-submit-bug-report).
---
I ran the command: org-element-cache-reset but it didn't have an effect.
The shell command still runs though, as in previous Org versions, I just
get the above error text in the *Warnings* buffer.
Please let me know if I can do anything else.
Regards!

It has been a month. Have you had a chance to look into providing more details?

Dear Igor
I did not get the warning while using the latest Org (9.7.11) from the
repo and minimal config as suggested in the page.
I guess I need to bisect and troubleshoot my config. Do you've any
hints where the warning is coming from ?
Thanks!

Any particular reason you use a macro instead of just binding to a function
like this?
(defun insert-current-datetime ()
"Insert the current date and time in the format 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS' at
point."
(interactive)
(insert (format-time-string "%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S")))

Dear Dov
Thank you. The function works just as fine and doesn't trigger a
warning, unlike the macro version.

No idea. But this warning may appear for multiple reasons.
You may try to add
(setq org-element--cache-self-verify 'backtrace)
(setq org-element--cache-self-verify-frequency 1.0)
to your config, so that Org mode tries hard to catch any issues in the
cache. If what you see is related to the cache, you should be able to
see parser logs.

Thank you Ihor. I'll try troubleshooting my config. Will let you know
if I find something helpful.

Did you manage to find anything?
For now, as long as I cannot reproduce the problem, there is nothing
I can do on Org side.

No, Ihor. I'll update the thread if I ever get around to work on this,
though it is unlikely given the other time-consuming tasks I've on hand
and file. We can consider this issue closed, if it suits the project.
Thank you very much for your contributions to Org mode and open-source
in general.
