It turned out that the culprit was the following (add-hook 'gnus-select-article-hook 'my-org-store-link-simple) (defun my-org-store-link-simple () (interactive) (call-interactively 'org-store-link)) No idea why I put this in, and no idea why this interfere with the wide and very wide reply commands. I leave it to the maintainer to close the bug. Uwe Brauer
