Often I do M-x shell and find myself switched to a shell session I
started hours ago and forgot about.
So I kill it and simply do M-x shell again to get what I want.
But then I think about the kids in Nairobi without any shells and what
happens if some right-to-lifer finds out my habits.
Ok, I guess I can do
<escape> x C-f C-a C-k C-g <escape> x s h e <return> c d SPC C-y <return>
instead of
<escape> x s h e <return> C-x k <return> <escape> x s h e <return>
or
<escape> x s h e <return> C-x k <return> C-x <escape> <escape> <escape> p <return>
