Subject: bug#9282: Mention the current-buffer requirement in `match-string{, -no-properties}' docstring
Date: Thu, 11 Aug 2011 17:25:09 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <87r54s9dii.fsf@gmail.com> (raw)
As the info documentation points out[1], when retrieving match data for
a buffer (as opposed to a string), `match-string{,-no-properties}' _must_
be called with the matched buffer current. This is a critical
requirement, so it should also be mentioned in the doc strings, not only
the Elisp manual.
