I can't reproduce this. Here is what I tried. On Linux console (Ubuntu Dapper), with the latest CVS Emacs: 1. emacs -q 2. M-x customize-option RET initial-frame-alist RET 3. Move point over INS 4. RET => option field opens up 5. Move point over DEL 5.
