Does anyone know why git (or VC) used my login name and the host name of
my machine instead of my email address in this commit, and how I can
prevent this from happening again?

(When I first tried to send this, Gnus complained:

The Message-ID looks strange: "<87r2zeqxsp.fsf@rosalinde>".  Really post? (y or n)

I cancelled, but I've seen this before, and the mail goes out anyway;
hope it does now, too.)
