Subject: File exists, but cannot be read, so don't go opening a buffer
Date: Mon, 27 Sep 2004 02:32:11 +0800	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <87oejsyj84.fsf@jidanni.org> (raw)

For files like /dev/fd/0 on Linux, hitting v in dired gives
File exists, but cannot be read
But then a empty buffer is created nonetheless.

Better is v on /proc/kmsg:
File is not readable: /proc/kmsg
Where no buffer is created.
