OK, so basically Gnus in Emacs 26.2 doesn't work with your version of
Davmail, I guess, but older versions do work.

There was an IMAP parsing error that has been fixed in Emacs 27 that may
lead to the results you're seeing.  Would it be possible for you to try
the development version of Emacs and see whether this fixes your issue?
