That was nitpicking somewhat irrelevant to unibyte-multibyte problem:
Ted expected to get «нуль», and it's «íóëü», though the string he
originally provided — «íîëü» — decodes to «ноль»; however, both «нуль»
and «ноль» mean «zero».
