This is a buffer property. In some modes, such as org where you have a #+LANGUAGE cookie, or xml where you have a meta tag it works, but in a plain old text buffer it's harder. Maybe you could bind the variable, or it could depend on your current ispell dictionary. (In fact, I already need to explicitly add "['’]" to CASECHARS in ispell-local-dictionary-alist to make hunspell accept words like "it's"). Rasmus -- C is for Cookie
